FROM THE CEO
Dr. Njoroge G. Kimani, PhD, MScMB, BEP Consultant in Clinical Medicine, CEO/Founder Springs Healthcare (K) ltd. Consultant Phytotherapeautics Pharmacognosy
Despite tremendous advances in Medicine both in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, Human survival and social-economic development continues to face a serious risk from various diseases caused by either the environment we are living in, the food we are eating, lifestyle or bacteria and viruses.
The number of people living with, and dying from non-communicable diseases continues to rise day by day. With the increase in various diseases, there is concomitant failure of current medications and complications arising from numerous medicines used in western medical practice. As a result, there is a shift towards seeking for alternative in traditional medicines and the demand for its services is increasing. On the other hand, there is wide spread use of complementary medicine alongside conventional therapeutic interventions as a self-care approach to attain or maintain good health.
Natural products are a source of numerous conventional medicines and equally used as major products in traditional and complementary medical (T&CM) practices. While natural products are key in prevention and recovery from sickness, lack of knowledge and scientific evidence on safety and efficacy of numerous products used in T&CM block their use and integration in modern medicine. TM and CM, of proven quality, safety, and efficacy, contributes to the goal of ensuring that all people have access to care.
Scientific/Medical research is key to development of quality, safe and effective innovative products as well as proper integration and advocacy of TM & CM in modern medical practice. Many countries now recognize the need to develop a cohesive and integrative approach to health care that allows governments, health care practitioners and, most importantly, those who use health care services, to access T&CM in a safe, respectful, cost-efficient and effective manner.
That’s why we have prioritized to conduct intense scientific evaluation in development and formulations of our products geared towards providing natural solutions in prevention of disease and attaining good health. It’s our hope that our purpose driven products will offer a great experience to you and /or your clients.
